Governors

Academies are set up as companies limited by guarantee with charitable status. Each Academy is under the control of its governing body, which has a clearly defined strategic role in shaping its success.

As an independent school, Appleton Academy is set up as a charitable company to give governors broader scope and responsibility for ethos, strategic direction and challenge, working in conjunction with our Sponsor - Bradford College.

Our governors are:

Mr Richard Wightman - Chair

Ms Michele Sutton - Vice Chair

Mr Alan Jerome

Mr Kevin McGuinness

Mrs Kath Oldale

Mr Gordon Senior

Cllr Dale Smith

Cllr Sarah Ferriby

Mrs Barbara Hey

Mrs Nicola Dolan

Mr Rod Whitson (Parent Governor)

Admin:

Mr John Hesketh - Clerk

Mr Craig Armitage - Minute Clerk
