Mr McGuinness attended St Bede’s Grammar School before joining Bradford & Bingley Building Society (B&B) where he held a variety of roles before retiring after 37 years as a Director and Secretary. During his period at B&B he qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building Societies, had period of secondment to the industry regulator and was a Director of the Building Societies Ombudsman Scheme. He was a member of the governing body of Bradford College between 1997 and 2009 including a period as Chair and Chair of Training for Bradford Ltd. Other roles include President of Bingley Show (2008), Non-Executive Director of Darlington Building Society and Vice Chairman of Bradford & Bingley Pensions Ltd. Mr McGuinness’ interests are wide and varied, he is a keen golfer, interested in sports generally including Horse Racing particularly and he enjoys reading. |
