Go Higher Celebration - Autumn Term 2018

Appleton Academy students attended a Go Higher West Yorkshire celebration event at Headingley Stadium, giving them an opportunity to test their presentation and speaking skills (as well as being able to enjoy the festivities their achievements so richly deserved!).  The students were a credit to the Academy and have the reward of their appearance at the event being broadcast on the 'Made in Leeds' TV channel in the coming months.

Celebration Evening - Autumn Term 2018

The annual celebration evening hosted by Appleton Academy to recognise the achievements of our Year 11 students took place again this year.  The evening gets bigger and more fantastic each year, with over 250 students, staff and parents joining us to mark the wonderful achivements of the 2017 cohort.  We would like to congratulate all of our Year 11 students and wish them well as they embark on further education, apprenticeships and the first steps in their careers.

Reading Leaders - Autumn Term 2018

Fifteen students from Years 9 to 11 have been trained as 'Reading Leaders' by the reading charity Beanstalk.  These students now help to deliver reading sessions to younger children in school, fostering the attitude of mentoring and togetherness between our Primary and Secondary students that has always been the aim of our unique 'all-through' school environment.
