Home learning

Home learning provides your child with the opportunity to find out about topics studied in class. In Key Stage One, children are given a new piece of home learning every two weeks on a Wednesday. Children will be told about the work beforehand and good work will be shared with all the class and often displayed.

Children are encouraged to approach each task in their own way and to use lots of different methods of finding out and presenting their work. This can include:

  • Photographs
  • Drawings
  • Using the internet
  • Using books
  • Pictures and information from magazines
  • Models

We will take photographs of models and artwork too large for the book!

Home learning can be returned to school at any time during the fortnight – there is no need to rush! The important thing is that your child is motivated to continue learning at home and that families can be involved.

Have fun!

Our topic this half-term is all about ourselves. We would like your child to find out about themselves, for example, when and where they were born and members of their family. Work may include pictures, photographs and writing.
