The Government have confirmed that Appleton Academy will receive funding for a new Academy building on the High Fernley site.

The Academy will also receive council funding for the primary element of the Academy and for the inclusion of the Wyke public library into the Academy scheme.

A planning application has been submitted with the intention to commence building early in 2011 and the target date for completion is before the end of 2012.

The new Appleton Academy website has now been launched containing much more information for students and parents.
