We would like to say a fond farewell and thank you to Edward Brown, who has worked as the School Crossing Patrol Person on the junction of Huddersfield Road and High Fernley Road since 1990.

Edward's long service for Bradford Council and to the community of Wyke comes to an end on Friday 8 June 2018, when he will embark on what we hope will be a long and happy retirement, which is well earned.

We would like to thank Edward, on behalf of staff, students and parents, for his dedication to his role and for keeping the children of Wyke Manor, High Fernley and Appleton Academy safe (as well as the wider community).

Appleton Academy, as part of the Exceed Academies Trust, is committed to being transparent about how it collects and uses data in order to meet its data protection obligations under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).  If you would like further information or to view our policies on GDPR please follow the link below:

We also wrote to all parents recently regarding pupil personal data and how this is used in school in promoting the excellent work and achievements of our students.  We asked parents to complete and return a form to advise us of your preferences for how data about your child is used by Appleton Academy.  If you have not yet returned that form, can you please do so as soon as possible.  The form can be returned to Form/Class Teachers or dropped into the Main Office.

Thank you for your support.

We would like to remind parents of Year 7 students that there will be a Parent Evening this Thursday 19 April 2018 between 5.00pm and 7.00pm.  If you have not yet confirmed appointments with staff, you can do so via the following link: https://appletonacademy.parentseveningsystem.co.uk
